Welcome to Mrs. Hrosik's Fifth Grade Class!
Welcome to our Fifth Grade Classroom Webpage!
I am excited to share with you some of the things we do in fifth grade! Our academics include: reading, spelling, language arts, classical vocabulary, writing workshops, and math. I teach all fifth graders science and Mrs. Hernandez teaches social students to all the fifth graders.
Of course our Catholic Faith is weaved throughout the day. We attend mass two times a week, Wednesdays and an all school mass on Fridays. We also have a program called Family Fridays that we participate in once a month. This allows students from all grades to get together in family groups and do activities and service projects.
Some of our highlights of fifth grade are:
-Frog in the Bog, a three day/two night field trip to the Indiana National Lakeshore to study ecosystems in Northwest Indiana.
-Reasearch paper- An introduction to writing a research paper.
-hands on science experiments that help students understand the concepts being taught in science.
- Service project, each year we choose a service project to help our students understand that as Christians are main role is to care for and serve others.
-Fifth grade movie night and Lollipop Sale to help with the cost of the Frog in the Bog field trip.
-Fun reviews and activities that enhance learning.
